I broke Alan Webb's HS mile record with a... well, if anyone is actually reading this, I guess I'll be honest:

XC 5K: 15:57

1500: 4:04.55

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to continue running as long as possible. I don't feel a need to run marathons; I would rather simply be able to run 5Ks and 10Ks for much of my adult life and at least get in a few miles until I'm pretty old.


I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I like chocolate shakes.

Another workout in Orem. Not to be a baby, but I might stop going there since this time I felt like I was running into the wind the whole time! Maybe it's just the stormy weather. I didn't run as fast as I had wanted, but I am not (overly) concerned since I had a similar issue in my summer 2014 and 2017 training blocks where I would just stop getting faster for a few weeks. Both seasons ended up being successful for me however. So I will be patient. Goal was: 3 by (5:40-5:45 mile, 5:00 mile). I ran 5:36, 5:13, 5:46, 5:12, 5:45, 5:08. I felt like at 5:45 pace I was recovering very slowly, but (aerobically speaking) I was recovering, which was good.
