Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

Didn't expect a legit workout today. It was still pretty chill. Mile 1200 800 at intramural on the first frigid workout day of the year. I led the first one behind Clayton in 4:47, then did a 3:32 and 2:15. It was over quick. Didn't feel amazing.

Cold day for a race. As a group we have been super close in workouts, so I knew the pack would be big for a while. I don't remember quite when who fell off, but I was right that it was competitive to the end. I wish I could've brought home the tots for myself and team white, but its all good. 5:02 pace. The bittersweet part is that afterwards I went into the trainers and they said I have the makings of a stress reaction. Its a miracle its still just that because the first pain I felt was before doing the Michigan, a long run, another hard workout, and a race over the course of six days. So now I have to cross train. I hope that will fix it ASAP. I think it will. (Obviously nobody wants an injury but the nice thing is that it was at a very convenient time).
